Toyota States the GT 86 is the First of Three Sports Cars… Whats Next?
Could it be the long awaited new Supra? Toyota/Lexus does not really have a car to put up against the 370z/G37 Goupe Line up; the latter is a pretty good seller.
What about a new MR2? A small 2 seater go cart type sports car, the MR2 Spyder was a very under rated car handling-wise, it could give the Mazda Miata some Japanese 2 seat competition. A SW20 style mini Rocketship could be cool too.
I am thinking they will produce a small but zippy fwd hatchback type vehicle similar to the FX-16 from the 80’s. Or a Coupe/Sedan Combo to battle the Honda Civic Si duo.
“In a recent interview with Top Gear, Toyota GT-86 chief engineer Tetsuya Tada has confirmed that the new GT 86 is just the first of a series of three new sports cars set to be launched by Toyota. He also announced that the GT 86 is placed in the middle of the two future sports cars, with pricing obviously following in the same pattern.”
